Cooking a chicken!!  Have been trying to make my money go further, by buying a chicken from supermarket and using it for sarnies, roast, etc to last me the week.

Have tried a new recipe tonight, smells good, thought I would share it.

 

Still waiting for Central heating engineer to turn up......

They will only offer you a morning (08.00 to 13.00) or afternoon (13.00 to 17.00) appointment, so asked for morning as early as possible as I start work at 08:00.  Still waiting, you know as soon as I switch the hoover on they will knock at the door and I won't hear it....!!

Got away last weekend to Ogri MCC Rally near Cirencester, wicked weekend, was great to catch up with Coz, Tracy, Sarah, Sandra and the Dutch Crew.  Will add some pics to R&R.

Since my last blog I have motivated myself into going away camping twice in a week.

 

My R&R is ongoing, still not feeling a 100% but a hundred times better than I did 6 months ago. 

I keep meaning to update my msn space more regularly but I never do. 

Just like I keep meaning to do things.

Facebook is still grabbing my attention, though it is starting to wane.

I want to get out and about, and do things, I need goals, something to look forward to, holiday, weekend away, day out, night off....

Get started, get planning....

I am so tired, and that was staying in a chalet!!  Had a brilliant time down on the Isle of Wight, have stuck most of the photos on facebook.  Noticed I'd not even put last years on here......I am such a slacker!  Back to work tomorrow, not so bad after having a great weekend.

Today is a fantastic day, the sun is shining, birdies in the trees.  Have been making cakes today.  It's mothers day tomorrow so I have been making her a cake :)  Don't want to put pics up today, because it would spoil the surprise.  Off out in the garden now to make the most of the spring like sunshine.  Talking of spring, you should see Elaine's pond, it's writhing with tadpoles, thousands of them, not long hatched, amazing site...

On the road to recovery, where will it take me?

I dug my Canon camera out to take a couple of shots from my bedroom window, of the birds in the icy conditions in my garden.

Later on I ventured out to take kitchen waste to the compost bin, and took a couple of close ups with my mobile phone.

I've been away on addictive facebook for months and have sadly neglected my space.

Perhaps the start of the new year will bring a new resolution to be more organised......lol doubt it.

Reg wants it

Ingredients1 1/2 cups oats
2 tablespoons caster/superfine sugar
1 tablespoon golden syrup
6 tablespoons butter

Method- Melt the syrup, sugar and butter together in a heavy bottomed pan.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in the oats and mix well.
- Press the mixture firmly into a shallow, well greased tin and place in the oven at 170 degrees centigrade for about 35 minutes.
- Leave to cool and then cut into generous portions while still warm, being careful not to burn yourself or your mouth!

It will be great to catch up with Klaire from Ipswich and meet her husband for the first time

Well what have I been up to since my last blog entry?

Not a lot, went to VW Rally in Kent at the weekend, Peppercorn, but more about that another time.

Uploaded photos from Amsterdam in April.  Went out there with Trudy, for a couple of days.  Our flight was mega early, so we were up at stupid o'clock, something 03.30.  Arrived at Gatwick, checked in, grabbed McD's brekkie, and was time to board our flight.  We like to go on the early business flight to try and maximise the time we've got out there.  Caught the train straight from Schiphol airport to Central Station in Amsterdam and we were in Central Coffee Shop by 08.30 UK time!  We walked across from there to find our hotel.  I'd not stayed at City Hotel before, but the reviews were ok and the price was excellent.  It was only a few minutes walk from the Station, and they let us leave our bags until our room was ready at 14.00.  So we set off to explore our local surroundings.  At the Melkweg that night, Newton Faulkner was playing, we'd planned on walking down to buy tickets at 16.00 when the box office opened.  However, with the early start, excess walking, etc, we didn't wake up until after 8, so didn't bother.  The next day, was filled with more walking, eating cakes, coffee shops. shopping, museums, until "Chipgate".  Along Damrak there is a fast food chip shop, I bought chips & chilli sauce, Trudy had cheesey chips, but the cheese was squirty plastic nasty cheese, that made her really violently ill  So ended up back at the hotel, and a mars bar for tea.  Our final day, packed in as much as possible, before we had to catch the train about 18.00 back to Schiphol, we even managed a canal trip.  Might go back later on in the year, things will be different as the smoking ban hit Holland on the first of this month....

As always trying to motivate myself into doing housework, yuck yuck.  Managed to do the washing friday night before I went child minding, so that's one less chore to do.  Went and spent most of yesterday afternoon down at a local lake, it was fantastic.  I walked up there with the kids, and it was like being at the beach

So today I must pay the pain aspect by doing my chores.......I hate housework, I want to be out having fun.....Enough moaning, going to do 2 hours and then I can go out and play, hurrah.

 

Worked this morning, and went into town afterwards to buy Dad his birthday present and get some new shoes for work.

My old boots were so worn down that it was affecting the way I walked.

Got a pair of new M&S shoes in a charity shop for £4.99 and a pair of lovely leather mules from the shoe shop for 8 times that, but they are gorgeously comfortable!!!

Have also been out in the garden, planting some more salad leaves, spring onions, and picked the first of the radishes, and two more fabulous strawberries off the plant Jacob gave me for mothers day

 

Have been busy girlie today.  For a change.  Done my house work - hurrah, just keeping an eye on weather as washing is on line.  So now I can play!  Have finished uploading Vanfest 07 and the two scooter rallies I went on, and didn't take any pics at   Still got from November onwards, jeez that was 6 months ago.  Where has the time gone?  Have managed to squeeze some time out in the garden too!  All my seeds are coming up.  The ones I planted over bank holiday are just water logged, it will be a miracle if they grow.  My poppies are coming out in force too, I'm sure they get earlier and earlier?  The first one was 23rd May.  Lots of strawberries to look forward to.

Going up to Melton Mowbray later on today for Caroline's 40th Birthday.  Taking Simon as he's broken his knee, after coming off on the way back from Rat & Survival.  Looking forward to a night out there.  These photos I took with my mobile phone Samsung G800.
